Chapter 2

Fue had never been to Fenia before. He had heard many stories about how beautiful and how amazing the city was. Everything he heard did not prepare him for what he saw. Fue was amazed. The city had guards around the very tall city walls. Inside the walls, there were criss-crossing streets that all seemed to head towards one place - the central plaza. Merchants, buyers, and visitors flowed through the avenues and the central plaza.

In the plaza, there were beatiful gardens and government offices. In the very center of the plaza was Fue's destination - the Fenia Palace. He had never seen such a huge building. His gaze was noticed by one of the palace guards. "Never been here before," the guard commented. "I must admit I have not. It's an outstanding place," Fue said. "Wait will you see inside," the guard told him.

The guard opened the door revealing a pure marble floor with a gold plated cieling. He looked around and saw riches that he hadn't imagined before. The palace was like no other that had been build nor one that was ever built in the world. Fue was staring and absorbing every square inch of the place.

Fue noticed a door opening and the one man he had met at the pub where he was proposed to came out of it. "What was his name again? Michael something, wasn't it," he asked himself. "Michael Angelo," the man informed Fue. Fue stared at him inquisitively wondering how he knew his question. "That's my name. Go on in. You are about to make history. People will read of this day for years to come. You would have made your father proud," Michael Angelo said with a bow. Fue nodded and watched as he left the room leaving the palace main door which Fue had entered just a few minutes ago.

"He's a rather unique person," Fue commented as he headed towards the inner door. He stopped and noticed the messenger that was sent to him in Puria inside the next room. The messenger approached him. "Fue de Joie of Puria," the messenger asked. "Yes, that is I. I have come as Elizabeth Smith requested," Fue stated. "Come, come. Have a seat in this room. Elizabeth will be here shortly," he told Fue. "Pickett is your family name," Fue asked. "Yes," the messenger informed him. "Are you of close relation to Jonathan Pickett the liberator," Fue asked. "I am named after him. I am a direct descendant of him," Jonathan Pickett II said.

"I see," Fue commented as Elizabeth Smith walked into the room from a hidden door. "Jonathan, stand watch outside. I need to speak with Fue de Joie alone. "Yes, my lady," he said walking out the door. "Fue, I called you to come because the world is turning upside down for the Empire. Bravia has fallen away from Secfenia. They know of the future, but they want only peace for themself. At this time, we have a grave situation, the Empire wants to tighten control on us and force us to hurt our own if they think a milimeter different than us. I know me and you have not always agreed politically, but when the Empire tightens its grip, it will crush all of the current leadership and replace it with puppets. They will lock me and you and our fellow counterparts in jail to rot," Elizabeth spilled out of her heart.

"What do you propose," Fue asked knowing part of the answer included fighting back. "I need Puria to join with Fenia to keep Secfenia alive. We can't let them crush it," she commented with passion. "We shall not let them have a chance. Secfenia will continue. The constituion, the traditions, and the people can not be removed. Puria will support you in leading us forward away from the evil empire," Fue said standing up.

"As it has been said, let it be done," Elizabeth said standing as well. "Fue de Joie, by the authority given to me by the traditions of Secfenia, I hereby make you a member of the Secfenia Central Guard in whihc you must promise to stand by Secfenia no matter what happens," she told him. "I will till the end of my life support Secfenia and its legitimate rulers," he said. "Thank you, Fue. I'm glad I can count on you," Elizabeth commented with a smile. Fue walked towards the door.

He was about to open it when he heard a lot of noise from outside. Elizabeth jumped to the door Fue was at and opened it to see what was going on. "Elizabeth Smith, by the order of the Emperor, I hereby strip you of your title. You are to assist me as an advisor, however. If you do, you will be rewarded as you have never seen before," Viceroy Chrussa told her.

"She's a bitch," Fue told her. "Watch your tongue or you won't have any family," Viceroy Chryssa warned. Fue took out his sword and stared at her with rage. "I can see why you don't have one that would admit it," Fue countered. Viceroy Chryssa gave a look towards Fue that would have killed him instantly if looks could kill.

"Enough, you insolent fool! Smith, detain him," Viceroy Chryssa commend. Elizabeth looked at Fue and then at Chryssa.

"I think you need to go," General Pickett II informed her. "Your welcome has ended," Elizabeth added. "Do you dare to go against me," she took her sword out. "Looks like we have," Fue told her. "I shall strike you down," she informed them.

"I would recommend otherwise. You can not win against the three of us nor against the multitude of additional guards that would almost instantly come to our aid," Elizabeth commented. Viceroy Chryssa looked around and thought about it for a minute. She then threw her dagger into the wall. "I'll be back for that," she said as walked out the door laughing.

"It's begun," Elizabeth said. Fue put his sword away. "I shall go and convince Puria. With what I've seen today, it won't be a problem," Fue said with a nod. "May your journey be safe," she said. Fue nodded again and exited the palace.
