Love N' Hate (Part III)

Chapter 4

Fue de Joie entered the dining room and sat down. "Fue, we need to talk," Angela said. "There's nothing I need to talk to you about," Fue replied with a glare. "Listen, they all know about what you did. Jonathan is pissed at you. The death of Robert is going to cause all sorts of problems for us and for you. I'm warning you that you had better be on your p's and q's when you deal with Jonathan," Angela warned. "Whatever," Fue responded.

Angela shrugged and got up. "Best of luck to you then," Angela said living the dining room. Fue ate in silence feeling the cold lone room jeering him at every chance. He quieted the room with rationalizations. Nothing could disturb him. "After all, I just repaid him for what he did. He took away all my happiness. He stole it away. I stole his. We're even now," Fue commented to himself.

Jonathan came into the room and sat down. He stared at Fue. Fue could feel his wrath without a word being said. If Fue was lucky, he wouldn't hear a word. However, luck was not to be on his side today. "Fue..," Jonation said with anger in his voice. "I don't want to hear it," Fue replied turning his head.

"I don't are if you want to hear it or not. Tough luck for you. The way you behaved has put a blemish on our reputation. You've hurt us bad," Jonathan informed him. "I don't care," Fue said standing. Fue started to leave the room, but stopped.

"Listen, Fue de Joie, you may not care about us. You may not care about Secfenia. You may not care about anything, but your stupid little plot to get revenge. You had revenge today. It wasn't right. You killed someone close to him just to piss him off? What good did it do? How does it help Secfenia get freed from the Empire?

"How does this help our cause? Wait, that's right. You don't give a fuck if he helps us or not. You are so wrapped up in your own damn hate that you forget about the world around you. You forget your own duty to this world. You forget what you swore to do. You forget the memory of the people. All you thought of was yourself.

From this day forward, let it be known that you are stripped of your titles. You shall be a ensign in the Secfenia Central Guard. Why even keep you? Because I have a promise to keep. That's the only reason why you are still part of this team. Do you understand that," Jonathan yelled at him.

Fue walked out of the room. Jonathan picked up a plate and threw it against the wall. "Why does he have to be that way? Doesn't he understand that we are all working to restore the glory of Secfenia? Doesn't he understand that no matter how hard he tries to get revenge he is just starting a futile cycle. Revenge leads to revenege which leads to even more revenge.

"Things are not fair in life. Nothing can ever prepare us for the twists and turns that life brings. One can not always understand the issues surrounding life. Some things pull us one way and other things pull us another way. Life isn't fair. But no matter how hard life pushes us, we have to realize that we must fight back.

"We can't just give up in life. We just can't quit. Forward we must strive sometimes not knowing where we are going. Sometimes realizing that we were going backwards and then having to make a course correction. But no matter what we have to try.

"We have to have control of what we say and do. If not then what we say and do will be the main cause of our own unhappiness. Happiness is not guaranteed, but if we strive to control what we say and do, then happiness is possible," Jonathan said calming himself.

Jonathan sat down at the table and thought about what needed to be done. "In due time, Fue will reap what he sowed today. We can't save him from that, but we need his help. He could really be a valuable part of the hope of Secfenia. We'll have to wait and see," he told himself.

He laid his head down on the table and mourned over the loss of another life. Life to him was precious. Every single person had to deal with love and hate of others. Some people had better luck than others, but unfortunately for Robert, it seemed that luck had not visited him either.
